Anatomy & Physiology
The Heart
WHAT IS ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY?
Anatomy is the branch of biology in which we study the structure of an organism. Physiology is the study of the function of body parts and how they work. These two fields of study are some of the fundamental pieces of knowledge that any healthcare professional needs in order to do their job well. Because circumstances that surround any patient are fluid (change) it is important to have a strong working knowledge of how the body is structured and how it operates. For this course however, we will only be covering anatomy and physiology related to the heart.
